The Sketchbook Diaries: Art from the week of 19th September 2022

This week I picked leaves from the willow tree in my garden, as well as some other leaves from plants, and drew them.

The effects of not drawing for five days were evident when looking at my sketches of leaves on the 20th and 22nd September. The drawings felt very flat and uninspiring. Seeing this cause and effect so plainly, motivates me to make the effort to draw every day.

On days that I’m either too tired or too busy to draw anything requiring concentration, I want to at least practise drawing the fundamentals such lines and circles.
